Position Description:
Acts as principal liaison to assist in planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of projects for the Ohio Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCCP), the Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP), the Ohio Partners for Cancer Control (OPCC), as well as other programs within the Bureau of Health Promotion (BHP) in order to assist in program planning and to evaluate the implementation of program activities and the Ohio Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan 2015-2020, guided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) best and promising practices: Assembles, leads and facilitates the activities of a cancer and/or chronic disease program evaluation team (e.g., internal and external partners such as CCCP and OPCC) to develop and execute a comprehensive evaluation plan that conveys the success and effectiveness of cancer and chronic disease control initiatives. Develops plan of evaluation and develops logic models for each component of the BCCP, CCCP, OPCC and other BHP programs, as assigned. Works with BCCP, CCCP and BHP program managers to identify key individuals in the development and implementation of program evaluation and logic model activities. Develops logic models for components of BCCP and maps the relationships of BCCP components among themselves, clients, providers, partners and the general public. Identifies evidence-based modifications to CCCP, BCCP and BHP program activities to improve effectiveness and efficiency according to goals and objectives. Analyzes and interprets progress in completion of program work plans and provides recommendations to program managers, the OPCC and the program evaluation team to improve program operations and to improve implementation of the Ohio Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan 2015-2020. Actively participates in writing an evaluation of BCCP and CCCP federal grant work plans.
Provides written recommendations to program managers and OPCC leadership to improve the execution of the Ohio Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan 2015-2020. Submits in writing to program managers, OPCC leadership and evaluation teams the strategies and findings related to the evaluation of programs and the logic models developed. Communicates regularly with BCCP and CCCP managers. Attends meetings and special events. As assigned, serves as a member of a disaster recovery/business resumption team, incident response team, or similar public health response team which may include the conduct of operations on a 24/7 basis at remote locations.

Education/Experience Requirements:
Completion of undergraduate core program or 24 mos. exp. in assigned program area (e.g., urban or community planning, public administration); 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in operational, mathematical, analytical or statistical research methods used in conducting & documenting research studies; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in budgeting; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in technical writing or business communication.
