Salary:  $42,500 to $47,500

Detailed Job Description:

Provides administrative support to The Ohio LSAMP Alliance; assists in alliance-wide communication; disseminates information on undergraduate research and professional development opportunities to LSAMP Scholars and partner institutions; serves as chair of the Conference Committee for The Ohio LSAMP Alliance; assists in arrangements for Steering Committee meetings; maintains shadow budgets for subawards; manages The Ohio LSAMP Alliance web site; assists in alliance-wide student recruitment efforts; provides data collection, entry, and management; assists in alliance-wide data submission through WebAMP; assists in writing reports required by the NSF; provides site visits to LSAMP partner institutions; develops and maintains mentoring and diversity materials and workshops; develops and implements the alliance-wide peer mentor training and peer mentoring programs; arranges and participates in regional, alliance-wide, and task force conference calls for the alliance; tracks subaward activities and invoices; provides assistance to alliance-wide task forces:  Ancillary Studies Task Force, Mathematics Curriculum Reform Task Force, Industry and Community Partner Task Force, Cyber-Sharing Task Force, Articulation Agreement Task Force; assists in LSAMP programming at The Ohio State University and partner institutions.

Supervises students assisting in this position.

Essential Duties:

Data entry and management:  provides data collection, entry, and management; maintains shadow budgets for subawards; processes financial transactions; understands and complies with university policies and procedures for financial and data management; assists in alliance-wide data submission through WebAMP; assists in writing reports required by the NSF; keeps inventory of LSAMP materials; keeps files of subawards, communications with partner institutions, and invoices

Communications:  updates website; assists in alliance-wide communication; disseminates information on undergraduate research and professional development opportunities to LSAMP Scholars and partner institutions; distributes brochures and instructional materials; works with alliance task forces; communicates with community and industry partners; provides site visits to LSAMP partner institutions; arranges and participates in regional, alliance-wide, and task force conference calls for the alliance

30%

Programming: assists with program planning and implementation; serves as chair of the Conference Committee for The Ohio LSAMP Alliance; assists in online sharing of materials; provides assistance at workshops and presentations;  develops and maintains mentoring and diversity materials and workshops; develops and implements the alliance-wide peer mentor training and peer mentoring programs; provides assistance to alliance-wide task forces:  Ancillary Studies Task Force, Mathematics Curriculum Reform Task Force, Industry and Community Partner Task Force, Cyber-Sharing Task Force, Articulation Agreement Task Force;

Minimum Education Requirement:  Master’s level degree or equivalent education/experience.  Education in business, higher education, and STEM are desired.

Required Experience:

Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is a program of the National Science Foundation with the purpose of increasing underrepresented minority (URM) recruitment, retention, persistence and attainment of degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).  Experience working with URM students in higher education is important.  Other critically required experience includes: skill and experience in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel, and data management; ability to communicate in both the written and spoken word with faculty, students, administrators, and community partners; ability to create and use e-mail distribution lists; experience using the web for searches; knowledge of web site development and maintenance; demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative in areas of responsibility, strive for excellence, be proactive, and follow through on achieving all tasks and goals.

Desired Experience:

Experience with Carmen, Qualtrics, OSU SIS, eRequest and eTravel; experience supervising student employees; familiarity with advisement and orientation services at OSU; familiarity with course requirements in STEM; experience in conference planning; experience in program management.
