The School of Educational Policy & Leadership at The Ohio State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position in Applied Educational Measurement and/or Assessment in its distinguished Quantitative Research, Evaluation, and Measurement (QREM) program at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in August of 2012. The mission of the QREM program is to contribute to scholarly inquiry and support educational practices in the public and private sector at the local, state, and national level. In QREM, we focus on three highly related aspects of inquiry as they impact educational and organizational outcomes and processes. QREM faculty are nationally known for their contributions to research design and methodological developments in multilevel and structural equation modeling, validity, scale-up of interventions, and evaluation models for professional development. We seek a faculty member actively engaged in research in the areas of measurement and/or assessment to complement these areas. Individuals with an interest in evaluation are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities are those expected of faculty at a leading research institution. The candidate is expected to teach current and new graduate courses in measurement and/or assessment; teach introductory research and statistics courses; advise and direct master’s and doctoral students; conduct an active focused program of scholarship; conduct and publish peer-reviewed research; obtain external funding to support research; and participate in School, College, and professional service activities.

Qualifications include an earned doctorate in measurement, evaluation, assessment or a closely related field. Successful applicants will have a record of research-based publications commensurate with rank and a commitment to quality teaching and mentorship. Successful candidates also will have a record of or strong potential for extramural funding. Review of applications will begin approximately February 27, 2012, and will continue until the position is filled. Please submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy statement, research statement, names and contact information of three references, and up to three representative publications to:
