Event: Demystifying R

  • 22 Jul 2022

IEA is going hybrid!

Our upcoming professional development meeting is being offered online, with in-person meetups in Bloomington and Indianapolis available for those who are interested in viewing the presentation with fellow participants.

Please join us on Friday, July 22, 1:30-3:30 pm ET as we welcome David Keyes, the founder of R for the Rest of Us (www.rfortherestofus.com), as he leads participants through the many possibilities offered by using the free statistical software, R. From David:

R is incredibly powerful software, but getting started with it can be confusing. In this presentation, I will discuss reasons why R is worth the effort it takes to learn. These include fast, efficient, and reproducible data analysis, high-quality data visualization, and doing everything from data importing to final reporting in a single tool. The presentation will include an overview of what R is, how it works, and what it can do for you.

In-person options are available at the John H Boner Community Center, 2236 E 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46201 and the Monroe County Public Library, Room 1C, 303 E. Kirkwood Ave, Bloomington, IN 47408. Following the presentation, we will have a Q&A session with our presenter, with networking time to follow. Zoom link will be sent to those who register prior to the day of the event.
