Summary of Position
Serves as senior researcher providing technical expertise in the evaluation of educational interventions for the Ohio Education Research Center (OERC), a collaborative of researchers headquartered at Ohio State serving as an intensive policy-evaluation unit, an infrastructure for educational research and policy analysis, and a repository of best practices. The Senior Researcher will focus on developing a series of quantitative studies in collaboration with partner organizations, serving as a technical resource to faculty and staff, working closely with state agency personnel, and ensuring that obligations across all partner organizations for contract deliverables are met; this position requires extensive work with faculty and research staff from Ohio State, as well as engagement with researchers and administrators from other universities and public and private sector agencies supporting the OERC mission throughout Ohio.

Description of Duties
40% Supports and conducts detailed complex scientific experimentation, functioning as an expert in evaluation of educational intervention; advises graduate students in the analysis and interpretation of research data; coordinates the analysis of research findings and prepares detailed summaries for submission to sponsoring agencies; assists in the management of evaluation efforts; plans and supervises program evaluations and studies; assists in the functional supervision of professional and support staff; reviews the work of collaborating research staff and instructs in methods and procedures necessary to achieve desired goals; monitors deliverables timelines and deadlines.
60% Participates in establishing policies and implements them as they relate to OERC research; acts as liaison to OSU faculty and researchers and administrators from external organizations inquiring about OERC; helps interpret policies, procedures and services; plans and supervises the scheduling of events, research meetings, and other activities; writes, edits, and approves progress reports and technical reports; plans and manages the preparation of articles, proposals, reports and educational materials for publication; participates in research activities in the evaluation and selection of seminar topics and speakers; develop and/or selects training materials; explores new areas of research and recommends new programs to meet these needs; assists in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses for programs.

Qualifications
REQ: A doctoral degree in an appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in program planning and administration; specific expertise in educational evaluation and measurement and/or policy analysis and planning; active engagement with research, including past experience with academic publications and presentations at a national level and extensive experience in a social science research capacity. Requires successful completion of a background check.
