POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The University of Cincinnati College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH) invites applications for a Senior Research Associate position in the college’s Evaluation Services Center (ESC).The Senior Research Associate will assist in the development, coordination and execution of program and policy evaluations in the fields of education and human services, beginning September, 2013. The Senior Research Associate will serve on the Center’s management team as Associate Director, participate as a member and/or leader of program evaluation project teams, actively promote and contribute to the Center’s continuous improvement, and contribute to the initiation of business development including proposal writing.

Preference will be given to individuals with demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing program and policy evaluations employing a broad range of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods methodologies.

Located in the urban center of Cincinnati, UC is ranked among the top 25 research institutions by the National Science Foundation. The university is built upon a strong interdisciplinary research culture that encourages collaboration across colleges. The Evaluation Services Center provides program and policy evaluation support for university faculty and staff, as well as for local, regional and state-level education and human services organizations. The friendly and supportive environments within the college and center, as well as among research centers across Ohio, provide an ideal atmosphere for evaluators who wish to work collaboratively with other evaluation/research professionals.


Desired QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Earned doctorate in evaluation, education or social science and at least five years practical experience in evaluation/applied research, or equivalent combination of education/experience (master’s degree required); strong skills in program and policy evaluation and a minimum of three years practical experience in developing, coordinating, and executing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods program evaluation in education and/or human services; strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and peers; experience working on teams; strong writing skills, particularly in the presentation of research findings to non-technical audiences; excellent oral communication and presentation skills in both small and large group formats; and excellent computer skills with expertise using Excel and SPSS or other statistical analysis programs. Candidates whose academic credentials include program evaluation, actively participate in evaluation-oriented professional organizations, and who have experience with organizational management and leading research teams in conducting evaluation/applied research are especially encouraged to apply. Salary is competitive and dependent upon preparation and experience.
