Hours/Full or Part: Full Time. 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. May be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities and working hours.

Description of Position: Advanced-level position in the Office of the Health Commissioner requiring thorough knowledge of project management and program outcome measurement and evaluation. This position reports to the Assistant to the Health Commissioner, and is responsible for directing Public Health’s healthy lifestyles programs. Programs include GetUp Montgomery County, Creating Healthy Communities, Tobacco Prevention, Community Transformation Grant, Diabetes Management and Prevention, and Violence Prevention.
The position is responsible for ensuring that programs maximize health impact through prevention, advance health equity and reduce health disparities, and use evidence-based best practices. Duties include:
- aligning programs with the National Prevention Strategy
- reviewing the public health evidence base for best practices
- developing program logic models and staff work plans
- monitoring program outcome measurement and evaluation
- preparing program and capital equipment budgets
- preparing grant applications
- ensuring staff accountability, training and professional development
Education/experience requirements: Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Health Education, or Public Health-related field; 5 years project management experience; 3 years supervisory experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Valid Ohio driver license.
