The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the administration of criminal justice and mental health research activities in the Department of Psychiatry. Position responsibilities include research and programmatic, administrative duties. Research activities include data collection and analysis, report and scholarly writing, presentation of results to audiences at the local, state and national levels and complying with regulations, including IRB. Programmatic and administrative duties include monitoring grant budgets, expenditures and subcontract compliance, tracking statewide program development and dissemination of information and resources.

Principal Functional Responsibilities

  • Formulate action plans to meet project specific goals
  • Coordinate and manage various grants and funding including monitoring grant budgets and expenditures
  • Track Statewide data related to jail diversion programs
  • Create and perform analysis of data
  • Participate in preparation of grant applications
  • Write reports and research briefings for dissemination to funders and stakeholder groups and participate in scholarly work for publication
  • Present results from the Research Team’s efforts at local, regional and national meetings
  • Perform duties related to the educational and general mission of the College and department as requested

Education/Degrees: Master’s degree in mental health, criminal justice or related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling, criminology, political science)

Experience: At least four years of experience in research, statistics and grant project management with extensive experience in presentation of results

  • Excellent skills in research design, methods and statistics
  • Ability to understand and work with individuals/groups with diverse educational philosophies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel as required
