Job Description

The University of Cincinnati College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH) invites applications for a Research Assistant/Associate Professor (non-tenure track) position in the college's Evaluation Services Center (ESC), beginning July 2014.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: The duties of the Research Assistant/Associate Professor will include serving as the Director of the ESC.  The ESC Director provides leadership and supervision for a team of eight research associates, two administrative staff, and students, in providing program and policy evaluation services to education and human services organizations.

TEACHING DUTIES: The Research Assistant/Associate Professor will also serve as a member of the Research Methodologies faculty in the School of Education and be expected to teach up to one course per term on program and policy evaluation methods at the graduate level, as negotiated with the Director of the School of Education.

Job Requirements

Earned doctorate in evaluation, research methodology, education, or social science and at least five years practical experience in evaluation/applied research; strong skills and expertise in program and policy evaluation and a minimum of three years practical experience in developing, coordinating, and executing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods program evaluation in education and/or human services; experience obtaining and managing projects funded through grants and contracts; strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and peers; experience working on and leading teams in conducting evaluation/applied research; strong writing skills, particularly in the presentation of research findings to non-technical and scholarly audiences; excellent oral communication and presentation skills in both small and large group formats; and excellent computer skills with expertise using Excel and SPSS or other statistical analysis programs. Candidates whose academic credentials include program evaluation, actively participate in evaluation-oriented professional organizations, and who have experience with organizational management are especially encouraged to apply.  Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated expertise in advanced evaluation methods; prior experience teaching program/policy evaluation at the graduate level and mentoring graduate students; and a record of scholarship relevant to the position.  Prior experience with evaluation in the context of national, state, or local P-12 educational systems is desirable.  Salary is competitive and dependent upon preparation and experience.
